STEFAN ZSAITSITS* (born 1981 in Hainburg an der Donau)

From 2001 to 2006, Stefan Zsaitsits studied at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, In 2003 he received a scholarship from the University of Applied Arts, in 2005 a scholarship from the Fred Adlmüller Foundation and in 2006 another scholarship from the Sophie Fohn Foundation. Zsaitrsits' early work is full of symbolism, expressive and colorful. A gradual reduction took place until 2009, which was also reflected in the reduction of technical resources: Zsaitsits increasingly turned to drawing. In 2014, he was awarded the Art Austria Award. In 2017 he won the Austrian Graphics Competition and received the South Tyrol Prize and the Lower Austria Culture Prize. The artist lives and works in Schönabrunn, Lower Austria. Works by Stefan Zsaitsits can be found in the collections of Albertina in Vienna or the Lentos Kunstmuseum Linz.
