Unterberger, dated 2001ESTIMATE °€ 200 - 400STARTING PRICE °€ 200Herbert Unterberger is an Austrian sculptor who lives and works in Hermagor in Carinthia. Several of his sculptures, figures and statues can be seen in public spaces. Unterberger was a student of the sculptor Hans Domenig from 1958 to 1962. From 1962 to 1966 he studied life drawing with Herbert Boeckl at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Hans Andre. In 1965 and 1966 he received the master school prize from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and received his diploma in 1966. This was followed from 1968 to 1970 by teaching at the music education high school in Hermagor. Herbert Unterberger has been working as a freelancer since 1967. He had his first solo exhibition in 1972 in the Galerie an der Stadtmauer, Villach. Since then, his work has been shown in numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions. In 2018, a memorial stone made of Krastal marble created by Herbert Unterberger with the inscription “Where are we going” for Ingeborg Bachmann was unveiled on the village square in Obervellach.PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights. The mandatory sales tax of 13%, for photographs 20%, is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium.
