Maximilian Schimek (1748–1798) piarista szerzetes, majd világi pap. Elsősorban szlavistaként ismert és csak másodsorban kartográfusként. Utóbbi tevékenysége is főleg a szláv nyelvterületre korlátozódott jelen munkája mellett, amely a második orosz–osztrák–török, azaz az utolsó oszmánok ellen vívott háború (1787–1792) színterét ábrázolja. Ő készítette el Bosznia addigi legrészletesebb térképét is. Tételünk eredetileg atlasz formában jelent meg.
Vászonra ragasztott 12 tábla, 62 szelvényre szelve.
