Miklós Radnóti (1909-1944) was one of the greatest Hungarian poets in the 20th century. Because of his Jewish origin, he fell victim of fascism in 1944. This poem, entitled Járkálj csak, halálraítélt! (Just Walk On, Condemned to Die!) is one of his most famous poems, the title poem of the volume of poems published in 1936. The poem is one of the most influential works of the 20th century Hungarian poetry. The original, one page manuscript hand-written with ink has been hiding for a long time in a private collection in Budapest.
