He was influenced by van Gogh and Kokoschka and won the Dürer Prize of the City of Nuremberg in 1930. In 1948, he was a founding member of the 'Seerosenkreis' in Munich, on the writers’ side, with Peter Paul Althaus (1892-1965). The “Seerosenkreis” was a regulars' table of visual artists and writers in the Schwabing bar 'Seerose' which Ernst Hoferichter described as the 'greenhouse of poetry'. A collective exhibition of his works was organized in 1952 by the Schöninger gallery in Munich.PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights. In the case of normal taxation (marked °), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax of 13%, for photographs 20%, is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium.
The buyer's premium amounts to 28% in case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation."
