With a heart-rending inscription on the half title: „Hamvas Bélának megszomorított európai szívvel Határ Győző 1948 5 28” (To Béla Hamvas with a saddened European heart. May 28, 1948. Győző Határ). In these lines to his close friend, one can sense both the grief caused by the horrors of the Second World War and the anxiety over the communist rise to power in the occupied country.
