Hans Spiegel was born in 1894 in Stuttgart in Germany. He studied at the Academy in Munich and since 1918 at the Academy in Stuttgart. Together with his colleagues he founded the artists group “Üecht”. In 1925 he became a professor at the Academy in Stuttgart and then in 1932, with only 38 years, the director of the Academy. Hans Spiegel, Adolf Walschmidt, Gottfried Graf and Albert Mueller were the founders of the artists group „Gruppe 29“. Most of his early works were destroyed during a bombardement in the Second World War. Hans Spiegel died in 1966. Further artists and styles: Christian Landenberger, Willi Baumeister, Oskar Schlemmer, Albert Mueller, Arnold Waldschmidt, Gottfried Graf, Cubism
