The Hungarian Press Law was promulgated on 11 April 1848 as Act XVIII, mandating the ministry to establish jury courts for press offences. This order of 108 articles was drafted by László Szalay, head of the codification department, and finalised with Deák’s amendments. With the minister’s autograph signature, this is a rarity of historical and bibliographical importance.
