Sir Alfred East was a British artist. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art. He then went to France to further his education with Tony Robert-Fleury and William Adolphe Bouguereau at the renowned École des Beaux-Arts. His romantic landscapes show an influence of the Barbizon school. In 1906 Alfred East was elected President of the Royal Academy of Arts. On July 7, 1910, East was created a Knight Bachelor by King Edward VII. Our picture shows a walk on a rural avenue under a dramatic skye.

PLEASE NOTE:

In the case of normal taxation (marked °), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax of 13%, for photographs 20%, is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium.
The buyer's premium amounts to 28% in case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
