Full description

Both are self-portraits on the two sides of one sheet. One of them was published and has been reproduced several times, including as the title vignette of the 1942 Révai edition of his translated poems. The other drawing is not known. Tóth was well known for his love of drawing. Already at school his talent was evident, and his parents intended him to become an art teacher. It was under the influence of Albert Kardos, his teacher at the Debrecen secondary school, that he turned to literature.
