An exceptionally rare occasional poem. “Written in March 1809. Its background lies in the uprising following the Diet of Pressburg, in which the Wesselényis also participated, leading their Transylvanian troops. The epistle greatly enhanced Kazinczy’s poetic prestige, Count József Dessewffy, Dániel Berzsenyi, and János Kis all greeted it with enthusiasm. The addressee himself, the younger Miklós Wesselényi, gladly received the honorific poem and intended to have it published in a luxury edition in Göttingen. However, he had no time to carry out his plan, for in the meantime István Kulcsár, István Horvát, Mihály Vitkovics, and György Fejér had it printed in Buda.
