Ian Krause spent his childhood and youth in Munich and Neustift am Walde. After high school for graphics, he worked as a set designer at Bayerischer Rundfunk and then studied architecture at Munich. He graduated in 1994 with a degree in engineering. From 1991 to 2004, he worked in various architectural offices and at the same time concentrated on painting. The first small exhibitions began in 1998. Thematically, Krause developed from graphic studies to large-format backdrop painting into initially rational, colour-plane architectural painting. After breaking with architecture, the painter first concentrated on landscape studies in the area around Vienna. Abstract images then developed from this, which deal with nature, chance, feeling and the unpredictability of being in the context.
PLEASE NOTE:
