According to this uniquely exciting text, Bajza requested exemption from drill practice. He promised to perform his other National Guard duties, but wished to be excused due to his editorial responsibilities at Kossuth’s Newspaper. On the verso, Captain Podmaniczky added his supportive note to Colonel György Kovács, commander of the Pest-Buda National Guard.
