A magyar nyelv törvényeinek elemzése, Verseghy legjelentősebb nyelvészeti munkája. A stilisztika szempontjából különösen kiemelkedő művének harmadik részeként megjelenő nyelvesztétikai munkája: Usus Aestheticus Linguae Hungaricae (A magyar nyelv művészi felhasználása). Ez utóbbiban, amely egyszerre retorika, poétika és stilisztika is (jóllehet Verseghy csak retorikáról és poétikáról beszél), gyakran szinte modernnek ható, részletes képet kapunk nyelvünk esztétikai, művészi eszközeiről, továbbá az ékes magyar beszédnek különböző területen, különböző célból használt módozatairól (szónoklás, levélírás, versköltés stb.).

Egységes, korabeli, díszes, dúsan aranyozott, festett félbőr kötésben, sárga festésű lapszélekkel. Néhol kisebb kopások, apró szúrágás-nyomok, de összességében nagyon szép példány, rendkívül dekoratív sorozat.
