Woodcut map of India by Lorenz Fries. Second edition of the regional map focusing on Southeast India from the Arab to the Malay Peninsula. Fries names Waldseemüller as cartographer in the preface of his atlas, but the map is originally based on Johannes Ruysch's 1507 world map. The engraver added various illustrations to the map showing indigenous people. Latin title and short text surrounded by fine borders and decorative woodcut vignettes on the back. Dimensions: 300 x 445 (360 x 480) mm. Fine, clear copy.
