Full description

The monarch renews his coat of arms due to the alienation of the letter of arms granted by his predecessors to János Klobusiczky, castellan of Kasza, who rendered him various services, and its disappearance during the turbulent years of the past. We have found no trace of this act in the literature. The document is adorned with beautiful paintings of plant motifs to the left of the coat of arms. According to sources, Ferdinand I gave Kasza Castle to the Petrőczy family in 1528, so the recipient of the grant was not a royal castellan.
Document in vellum with hanging seal. Countersigned by Miklós Oláh, bishop of Eger and chancellor. Sheet slightly browned in centre but text entirely legible, wax seal with horizontal crack.
Dated: Pozsony, 10 March 1552.

Protected cultural object – Unable to export
