Zsolnay Secession-style Flower Stand with Female Figure
Spliced white ceramic cast in shape. Female figure painted with opaque and transparent coloured eosin glazes, entire surface acid-treated. Embossed, secession-style flower decoration painted with high-fire, coloured glazes and eosin-glazed “comb technique”on basket. Design: Lajos Mack, 1901 Form book drawing by Géza Nikelszky. Marked on bottom: pressed in clay 6574 (form number) and embossed, round, stamp-like branding the same colour as the base coating. Zsolnay, Pécs, 1901. S.: 22 × 11 × 21.6 cm Pendant of inventory item 87.198.1 of the Ceramic- and Glass Collection of the Museum of Applied Arts.
