Zsolnay Secession-style Ornamental Vase
White ceramic, cast shape with applied handles. Acid-treated, marbled (malachite) eosin glaze coating on surface. Secession motifs with detailed eosin painting and gilding on embossed ornaments resembling mounting. Tiny dents on inner side of base rim. Design: Sándor Apáti Abt, 1903. Form: 11th Facon-book, drawing no. 7081 “design Abt 1903 X. 31st training work”. Marked on bottom: pressed in clay, illegible 7081 (form number) and embossed, round, stamp-like branding coated in thick glaze with the same colour as the base coating. Zsolnay, Pécs, 1903.
