Zsolnay Miniature Vase with Tiffany-decoration
Hand-shaped white ceramic. Surface decorated with multi-layer, transparent and opaque eosin glazes with lined, so-called “Tiffany” technique. Acid-treated, silky, iridescent. Tiny dent on mouth rim, small scratches on surface. Decoration design: supposedly Vilmos Zsolnay, 1899. Marked on bottom: pressed in clay Zsolnay Pécs, 5302 (form number from 1899) etched with hand, and round, stamp-like dot-row marking painted with eosin. Zsolnay, Pécs, 1899. H.: 11 cm “Tiffany” technique: Interpretation of the style of the nacreous, iridescent glasses of glass artist Luis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) using eosin.
