Inscribed by the author: „Márai Sándornak becsüléssel Weöres Sándor Pécs, 1935. nov. 17.” (To Sándor Márai, with respect, Sándor Weöres, Pécs, November 17, 1935). We have found no information regarding the relationship between the addressee—already regarded as a literary giant at the time—and the young poet. It may simply have been a gesture of respect toward the great writer.
