A Fővárosi Lapok szerkesztője levelében visszautasítja Milkó Izidor írását, mondván az nem novella-szerű, tárcának meg túl hosszú. Kritizálja Milkó mottó választását is, majd az elég goromba hangvételű levél végére odabiggyeszti: "Író és szerkesztő közt a barátság legszebb fajtája az őszinteség".
