A szerző mérsékelt konzervatív politikus, Széchenyi követője volt. Később a kiegyezés lelkes híve, majd Deák pártjának képviselője lett. Művében az udvar abszolutisztikus törekvéseivel szemben az ország történeti joga védelmében szólal meg.
Korabeli, díszesen aranyozott gerincű félvászon kötésben, festett lapszélekkel. Szép példány.
