The Byron Coffee House & Reading Rooms. Kézzel színezett rézmetszet 1835-ből. London, 1835. (Chapman and Hall.) Keretezve. M: 27 x 19 cm. Selections from Seymour. No. 1. 1835-ben Chapman and Hall sikeres sorozatot adott ki Robert Seymour szatirikus karikatúráiból, melyek költőket, politikusokat, közéleti személyiségeket ábrázoltak. A Charles Dickens munkáit is illusztráló Seymour a maga idejének egyik legváltozatosabb és legtermékenyebb karikaturistájának számított. A sorozat 1878-ban átdolgozott formában újra megjelent. Jelen metszet az 1835-ben kiadott sorozat első lapja. A kép egy alsóbb társadalmi réteghez tartozó, kissé ápolatlan férfit ábrázol egy finom kávézóban, ahogy egy jól szituált úrnak tájszólással beszélve akarja eladni kétes közéleti/kulturális érdeklődését. "-Azonnal uraságodé lehet az újság, bár csak a vitairat a valamirevaló benne. -Oh, kérem, ne siessen vele! Engem kizárólag a tudományos cikkek érdekelnek.”
