A címlap előtti lapon bejegyzés: „The corrections in ink are in the handwriting of Kossuth; the pensil notes by Newman. This copy was bought from the Newman family.” Azaz: „A tintával írt javítások Kossuth kezeírása, a ceruzás jegyzetek Newmanéi. Ezt a példányt a Newman családtól vették.” E ceruzás jegyzetek említik Pulszky nevét, Kossuth szóbeli kiigazításait, stb.
