Schwartner Márton (1759-1823) statisztikus, oklevéltani szakíró, 1788-tól a pesti egyetem oklevéltani és címertani tanára. Szakmunkája az oklevéltan rendszeres monográfiája, mely kitér többek között az oklevelek formai, dátumozási, helyesírási, rövidítési és szövegezési követelményeire. A címlapon rézmetszetű vignetta, függelékében válogatás a magyar történelem nevezetes okleveleiből, a rézmetszetű kihajtható táblákon oklevél-hasonmások.
Példányunk címlapján és az azt követő levélen apró hiány, néhány levél fűzése meglazult, néhány oldalon apró, halvány foltosság.
Enyhén hiányos gerincű, enyhén kopott korabeli kartonkötésben. Jó példány.
