Bp. (1886.) Franklin Társ. XVI, 502 l. Piros kiadói egészvászon-kötésben. Salamon Ferenc (1825-1892) publicista, történész, egyetemi tanár. A szabadságharc bukása után Nagyváradon majd Nagykőrösön tanári állást vállalt, majd újságíró lett: a Magyar Hírlap, utóbb a Pesti Napló munkatársa. Kemény Zsigmond, Deák és a kiegyezés híve volt. 1867-től a Budapesti Közlöny c. hivatalos lap szerk.-je,ezután haláláig a pesti egyetemen a magyar történelem tanára. Jelen könyve történészi főműve, mellyel az MTA nagyjutalmát nyerte el 1887-ben. A kötés Gottermayer Nándor műhelyében készült.
