Édesapjának, angol nyelven dedikált példány!
Révy Gyula, mérnök, szül. 1834-ben Gárdoson (Somogym.), tanult Szombathelyt, a bécsi főreáliskolában és az ottani műegyetemen 22 éves korában bevégezte tanulmányait. Néhány év mulva Biedemansdorfban (Bécs mellett) egy gépgyárban volt három évig alkalmazva. Innét Angolországba ment és ott maradt. Időközben Észak-Amerikába és két ízben Dél-Amerikába utazott, hol két évig tartózkodott. Angolországban mint gyakorló mérnök működött. A «Société des ingénieurs civils de France» tagja. (Szinnyei)
