Erhard Ratdolt (1442–1528) augsburgi nyomdász, a korai német könyvnyomtatás kiemelkedő alakja. A könyv az 1476–1486 közötti időszakáról, a leghíresebb, Velencében nyomtatott könyveiről (Regiomontanus: Calendarium (1476); Appianus: Historia Romana (1477); Eukleidész: Elemek (1482); stb.) szól. Ratdolt fametszetű illusztrációival forradalmasította az ősnyomtatványok tipográfiáját, valamint ő adta ki az első ismert nyomdai mintakönyvet is.

Korabeli, díszesen aranyozott gerincű, álbordás félmaroquin kötésben, az eredeti első borítófedél bekötve. Körülvágatlan, szép példány.
