Réczey Imre (1804-1874) sebészdoktor, szülészmester és műtő. 1837-ben a pesti egyetemen nyert orvosdoktori oklevelet a csontok és izületek bántalmairól szóló tan magántanára; a budapesti kir. orvosegylet rendes tagja. Az első magyar nyelvű urológiai munka címe még latin: "De lithotripsia", magyarul "A hudhólyagkő-morzsolásról". Réczey Imre fenti orvostudori értekezése után éppen két évtizeddel, az 1857-től megjelenő Orvosi Hetilap legelső számában szinte „vezércikként” jelent meg Balassa János professzornak ’A húgykövekről hazánkban’ című, három részes sorozata, ami a lithotripsia első klinikai fellendülését váltotta ki.
