Oldalszámozáson belül 13 szövegközti rézmetszettel illusztrált. Caius Iulius Phaedrus (i. e. 15 körül–i. u. 55 körül) trák származású ókori római meseköltő. Meséi 5 könyvre vannak felosztva, és mintája Aiszóposz Állatmeséi voltak. Műve eredetileg 150 mesét tartalmazott, ebből jelenleg 94 ismert. Eleinte egyszerű fordítással, és a görög prózai mesék senarius versekbe való áttételével dolgozott, később szabadabb átdolgozásokat, végül önálló meséket írt. Aiszóposszal szemben saját kora eseményeit is feldolgozta rövid elbeszélés alakjában.

Korabeli, díszesen aranyozott egészbőr kötésben, gerincén aranyozott bordó címvignettával, aranyozott lapszélekkel. Nagyon szép példány.
