Chalice with Lid from Nagyvárad

Silver, 399 g, gilded inside. Lobed-segmented base and body, sculptural acorns on loose lid. Embossed, punched and chased rocaille and flower decorations on entire surface. Gifting date engraving and inscription on mouth rim: ' to court counselor Ngos Popa György cs. k. orgos 1859.' Engraved inscription on rim of lid: 'As a token of love and respect to the beloved boss and leader of the officials of the Szalonta constable office and city and province office.' Mouth rim of lid repaired.Marked under mouth rim: Nagyvárad, around 1860, Ludovicus Mészáros nobilis. Kőszeghy: 1539, 1545, 1556. H.: 24 cm
