London, 1876. George Bell & Sons. VIII + 159 + [1] + 24 p. + 74 t. (ebből 72 kézzel színezett). Az ír származású ornitológus és entomológus szerző (1810–1893) egyik legismertebb és legnépszerűbb munkája, számos kiadást megért. A fametszetű táblákon több mint 200 nappali lepkefaj kézzel színezett rajza látható. Minden tábla előtt védő hártyapapír. Az első néhány levél enyhén rozsdafoltos (foxing).
Kiadói, álbordás, gerincén díszesen aranyozott lepke-motívumokkal illusztrált sötétzöld félmaroquin kötésben, aranyozott lapszélekkel. Nagyon szép példány.
