The famous ornate work presents the costumes of the peoples of the Austrian Empire - including the Hungarians - on 50 remarkably decorative hand-coloured plates. The engravings were made by William Ellis and William Poole. The work is bilingual: English and French. In contemporary gilt red full morocco, gilt leaf edges, slightly damaged spine and table edges.
