Expressive colours, however, transfer the painting to a more general and symbolic level. A man is both a way and a pilgrim who on his pilgrimage passes by mysterious things in the world of nature. The dark sky-blue covering the figure in something like blue melancholy is becoming a magic mirror reflecting our own life-circle.
