Michael de Hungaria: Evagatorium Coloniae, 1505. in domo Quentel.
An important manual of sermons, a literary form that flourished in the end of the 15th century. The fact that its author is almost entirely buried in oblivion is all the more surprising, for the Evagatorium was extremely popular and had numerous editions. Adding to the mysteries surrounding the book is a theory that it may as well have been written in England, as is suggested by some linguistic features in the text. Bound with another rare and early manual printed in Cologne. Slightly worn contemporary leather binding, defect to the head of the spine and the back cover, clasps missing.
