A mű címlapja kézzel rajzolt gondos és szép pótlás, az eredeti címlap tipográfiáját követve, még színben is (fekete és piros betűkkel), alul azonban az évszám leírása helytelen (1847), ezt később írhatták rá.
Elöl 2 lev hiányzik. Hátul az utolsó levél (519-520. l.) szintén kéziratos pótlás.
A kötet a latin eredetit követően Phaedrus meséinek magyar fordítását, magyar nyelven írt latin nyelvtant és egy deák-magyar szótárt tartalmaz. A szerző 1790-től a pápai református kollégium igazgatójaként működött, fontos szerepe volt annak főiskolai rangra emelésében. A magyar nyelvű oktatás úttörőjeként, műveivel az anyanyelvű tankönyvek hiányát igyekezett pótolni. (Honterus 77/372.)
