Megjelent Magyarország ezeréves fennállásának emlékére rendezett ünnepélyek kiegészítése céljából. Szerkesztette Szilágyi Sándor. Az egyes részek megírását Acsády Ignácz, Angyal Dávid, Ballagi Géza, Beksics Gusztáv, Dézsi lajos, Fraknói Vilmos, Fröhlich Róbert, Kruzsinszky Bálint, Marczali Henrik, Márki Sándor, Nagy Géza, Pór Antal, Schönherr Gyula vállalták el, s a bevezetést Vaszary Kolos, az utószót pedig Jókai Mór írta.
Az előzéklapon s a címkép verzóján korabeli tulajdonosi bélyegzéssel.
Kiadói, díszesen aranyozott, díszbordázott gerincű egészvászon-kötésben.
