Az anglikán egyház alapvető, ma is használatos liturgikus műve.

Richard Mant (1776-1848) anglikán plébános majd püspök a saját egyháza érdekeiért végzett szenvedélyes munkája részeként 1820-ban jegyzetekkel látta el az eredetileg Thomas Cranmer (1489-1556) által összeállított 'Book of Common Prayerst'. Canterbury első protestáns érsekének, VIII. Henrik és VI. Edward angol királyok tanácsadójának az ált szándékában, hogy a művet Európa összes angol nyelvű protestáns egyháza használhassa, és tartalmát minden angol nyelvű hívő könnyen megértse.

Korabeli álbordázott, aranyozott bőrkötésben, középen vaknyomásos virág-motívum, körbe ornamentális szegély-díszítéssel. Márványozott lapélek és előzéklapok, restarutált, aranyozott feliratozású gerinc. A lapok nagyrészt szép állapotúak, tiszták, helyenként (főleg az üres előzéklapokon) foxing foltok.
