A szabadságharcban mint tábori lelkész vett részt, amiért fogházbüntetésre ítélték. Elsőként kutatta a magyar zsidóság történetét, és ugyancsak ő volt az első, aki zsinagógában magyarul beszélt. Kiadói egészvászon kötésben.
