A humoros grafikák négy témakörbe vannak csoportosítva, ezek a Love and folly (Szerelem és balgaság), Maids, wives, and widows (Szüzek, nejek, özvegyek), Lords of creation (Az élet császárai), All sorts and conditions (Mindenféle népség). A kötetbe a legtöbb rajzot Charles Dana Gibsontól (1867-1944), az előző századforduló észak-amerikai nőideálja, az úgynevezett Gibson-görl megalkotójától és névadójától válogatták. A borítón is Gibson egy életképe látható.
