In it he orders several works from the bookseller, including Lajos Kuthy’s Polgári szózat (Civil Proclamation), the works of Zrínyi, and three copies of Emlény.
Besides his medical career, Dr. Kovács actively engaged in literary life and counted among his friends some of the greatest figures of the era, including András Fáy, Kazinczy, Bajza, and Vörösmarty. He greatly admired Széchenyi’s work and was one of the driving forces of Győr’s cultural life in the Reform Era.
