Full description

Besides everyday matters, the letter contains the remarkable plea: “megis kerem ne feledkezek az szegieni rab apiarol” (“I beg you, do not forget your poor imprisoned father”), referring to her husband János Haller, a leading Transylvanian politician imprisoned in Fogaras Castle between 1679 and 1683. Despite her efforts, he remained there, but during captivity composed two masterpieces: Pays, a békeséges türésnek payssa and Harmas Istoria.
