A Kelet Népe (1935-42) bihari népi írók, Barsi Dénes, Sinka István és Szabó Pál alapította. A Móricz Zsigmond fémjelezte korszak 1939-42-ig Móricz haláláig tartott. Ebben az évfolyam- ban jelent meg először az Árvácska című regénye folytatásokban, illetve „Hagyd a politikát, építkezz” nevezetes vezércikke is.
