Az Erdélyi János, Vajda Péter és Vahot Imre által alapított Almanach-Társaság célkitűzése a magyar irodalom fellendítése, fiatal írók bemutatása az olvasóközönségnek. A Vajda által szerkesztett kötetek szerzői között található Garay János, Jósika Miklós, Kuthy Lajos és Lauka Gusztáv is. Erdélyi szerkesztésében egy harmadik darabot is terveztek, de ez végül nem jelent meg.
