Forster, John Reinold: Observations made during a voyage round the world, on physical geography, natural history, and ethic philosophy.
First edition. John Reinold Forster was Englands first natural history teacher. He accompanied James Cook on his second trip. Forster returned in 1775 and when he saw that the Admiralty did not wish to use his services he gave his notes to his son who then published them as his own 6 weeks before Cooks official report. Illustrated with 1 table and 1 map. In contemporary ornately gilt calf, with minute damage on the spine, altogether a very fine copy.
