(HEVRA KADISHA ¦ PINKAS) Handwritten Hevra-book from Belényes
(today Beluş, Románia, 60 km from Nagyvárad, today Oradea), with calligraphical scripted names of the Hevra-members in Hungarian and Hebrew. The members were from Belényes and its neigbourhood (Drakuta, Pokola, Szerbest, Örvényes etc.) The first scripture is dated to 1860, the last one is 1911. 137 names on numbered, printed-framed pages. Original, opulently gilded hardback cover, halfbound in leather, single copy published by Vilmos Rákos printing house in Nagyvárad. The back of the book is sligtly damaged. Coloured edges. On the front cover gilded subscription: „Belényesi izr. Szent egylet (Chewra Kadischa) anyakönyve” (= Register-Book of the Jewish Hevra Kadisha in Belényes). SPECIALLY RARE!
