„A proletárdiktatúra bukása után – a Budapesti Hírlap aug. 7-én kiadott rendkívüli számán kívül – az újjáéledt keresztény Magyarország első budapesti napilapja, román cenzurával Szőts Pál szerkesztésében 1919. aug 17-én délután Esti Hírek, majd aug. 18-án Reggeli Hírek címen jelent meg erősen korlátozott terjedelemben” (Kemény 1942).
Az első és második szám (1919 augusztus 17-18.) a cenzor nevével, Dr. T. Olarin.
Megbarnult újságpapír, a tinta néhol kopott és nehezen olvasható.
