A baroque sugar bowl of Transylvania
Circa 12/half an ounce antique silver, 279 g, 13 x 10 x 7,5 cm.
marked on foot and at the edge of the cover under the dome: EIS: Unknown master of Transylvania, 1700-1730.
Remark: This bowl of the Master, one of the most precious pieces of the collection of the Hungarian National Museum (Inventory No: 1946.6.) , has been published several times, e.g.: Baroque Splendour, Baroque Goldsmith, Gold and Silver and in the catalogue of the Exhibition of Hanau . The Master's cup with a shark was also auctioned internationally: Dorotheum, Vienna, 28 November 2000 /lot No 5,

Both halves were shaped from a single sheet of metal.
