Kölcsey Ferenc és Szemere Pál régóta tervezték egy kritikai folyóirat indítását. 1826-ban – az Aurora-kör tagjaival (Kisfaludy Károly, Toldy Ferenc, Vörösmarty) folytatott egyeztetés nyomán – jelent meg az első évfolyam, amelyet további három követett. A szerkesztő Szemere lett.
Aranyozott gerincű korabeli félvászon-kötésben. Megkímélt állapotú, szép példány.
