Double figure - type of Siamese twins
19th century, wood, natural patina with a small layer of dust, height 115.5 cm; Provenance: Lobi (Ivory Coast), Starting Price: CZK 70,000; USD 2,050; EUR 2,329, Estimated price: (75,000 - 90,000) CZK., The double figure represents a being with two heads whose body is half male and half female (head and each half of the body facing opposite directions). The man and the woman mutually hold their right hand on the buttock. The stylised and abbreviated sculpture probably symbolizes the founding great grandparents from some Lobi tribe. The sculpture is higher than similar couples of that type.
